Fanz — Privacy Policy

Fanz ("we," "our," or "us") is a sports reaction app that lets fans follow live scores, predict game outcomes via Gut Check picks, and share short video reactions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account we collect your email address, username, and optional display name and profile photo.

Content you create: Video reactions, captions, comments, likes, follows, and Gut Check predictions you submit are stored and associated with your account.

Device and usage data: We collect basic device information (device type, OS version) and usage data (screens visited, features used) to improve app performance and fix bugs.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the Fanz app and its features
To display your profile, reactions, and activity to other users
To send notifications about followers, likes, and game results
To improve performance and fix bugs
To enforce our Terms of Service and keep the community safe

3. Information Shared With Others

Your username, profile photo, public reactions, and Gut Check picks are visible to other users. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We use the following services to operate the app:

Supabase — database and authentication
Expo / EAS — app distribution and updates
Apple — iOS platform services

4. Camera, Microphone & Photos

The app requests access to your camera, microphone, and photo library solely to let you record and upload reaction videos. We do not access these without your explicit action and permission.

5. Push Notifications

We may send push notifications for events like new followers, game alerts, and Gut Check results. You can disable notifications at any time in your iOS Settings.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us at the address below.

7. Children's Privacy

Fanz is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. If you are in the EU or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively. Contact us at the email below to exercise any of these rights.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of Fanz after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
